CCUU Rental Policy & Request
In order to reserve your space, please fill out our form below to inquire about rentals.
COVID-19 UPDATE: We will always operate under the local guidelines set up by the City of New Orleans.
Meetings organizers may set the Covid requirements specific for their group. These are recommendations to prevent transmission of illness:
- Attendees are encouraged to wear masks whenever there is a surge in cases in our area (i.e. around holidays, major tourist events, etc.,)
- Please remind your group/invitees to NOT attend if they don’t feel well prior to the event.
- If someone exhibits illness of any kind, they should be kindly and promptly asked to leave.
- Feel free to prop the Fellowship Hall doors open to the lobby to limit touching door handles for the duration of your event. (Door stoppers should be available near the Hall and Sanctuary doors.)
- Please maintain social distancing whenever possible. The lobby, the front entrance landing and rear entrances are additional spaces where people can have distance for direct conversing, if necessary.
- Please avoid providing communal refreshments (i.e. bags of nuts, chips, or cookies, etc.,) that require multiple hands to access.
CCUU Rental Policy and Building Usage Guidelines
The Community Church Unitarian Universalist Congregation provides a limited number of community organizations ongoing use of the building; other organizations and individuals may arrange to use our facilities on a one-time only, short-term basis, or longer term contract with approval.
The Congregation’s top priority is to its own programming and membership needs. If additional space is available, then priority is given to:
1) Non-profit groups that are supported by the Congregation (as evidenced by sponsorship of the Community Outreach Ministry)
2) Other non-profit organizations
3) For-profit organizations so long as the organization and the activity do not contravene the purpose of CCUU.
Building use activities fall under the jurisdiction of the Board of Trustees. No commitment for building use is final until the Building Use Agreement Application has been completed and executed by the President, Vice President, Administrative Manager, or Minister. When a scheduling conflict arises, it will be resolved by a CCUU official. Generally, members take first preference, long-term renters second, and one-time renters third.
IMPORTANT: Approval of the use of the grounds and facilities does not constitute or imply CCUU’s endorsement of a group, its mission, or its positions. Groups approved to use the facilities must not advertise the event in such a way as to imply endorsement by the Congregation. No activities or advocacy may take place within our buildings or grounds that conflict with the Bylaws and the practices of this congregation or of the Unitarian Universalist Association.
Steps to Facility Use Scheduling:
- Please fill out the online Building Rental Request Form (below).
- If your request can be accommodated, you will be sent the Building Use Application and Agreement Form via email or you may make an appointment for a tour and pick it up in person.
- Please fill out this form and deliver it ASAP to expedite the process for your rental. Attach any additional information that might be useful in helping us to determine if we can accommodate your group.
